Cairl, Thomas Stevenson “Tom”
Thomas Stevenson “Tom” Cairl, 86 of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Ebied Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. Born January 13, 1932, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Emmett J. and Gladys (Stevenson) Cairl. Tom was a 1948 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central High School. He proudly served his Country in the US Navy, as a Underwater Demolition Technician. Tom retired from the Dana Corporation after 18 years of service and was a member of Compelled Church, Temperance, Mi.
Tom was an avid Ham Radio Operator “WD8NOM” since 1976,he loved fishing, deer hunting and enjoying time with his family. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and following Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Emmett Richard.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Sue Ann (Scott) Cairl; children, Rebecca (James) Derubeis, Timothy (Jodi), Michael (Kathy) and Mary (Luke) Lenix; grandchildren, Jennifer, Timmy, Sean, Sarah, Rachel, Danielle and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Lucas, T.J., Jase and Gabrielle; brothers, James and John Cairl.
Friends may call at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (At Jackman Rd.) Temperance, Michigan from 11:00 – 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 where services will be held at 1:00pm. Interment, Erie Union Cemetery, Erie, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Compelled Church and Ebeid Hospice.
